Before You Inquire About Tattoo Prices, Here Are Five Questions To Consider
There are usually two possible reactions when you see a person with multiple tattoos on their body:
"Wow! That looks cool! I really wish I could do something like that."
"Whoa! That looks cool… and, dang, that must have cost so much money!"
A recent reaction that reminds us of the concept of tattoo prices and the world of body art. Whenever you bring up an idea of some sort of financial transaction in something that is considered 'art', there will be some tension. For others, tattoos are the height of body art, using the last medium (the human body) and transforming into something completely different, better, more unique. For others, tattoos are permanent paintings on the skin that are not close to the height of art and nothing will be captured by the popularity of artistic expression movements in history.
When it comes to price art, in this case, tattoos, feathers can be disturbed. Go to many tattoo studios, and you probably won't find prices anywhere. You’ll probably get a promo agreement sometimes with a little tattoo ‘meh’ BFFs or young lovers who might do as they wish to find people at the door. But tattoo studios are important and artists are not just adding ink. They want to do something good and get their name, and they want a reputation.
Unfortunately, clients (me and you) often make the world go round, and this makes tattoo writing difficult to do in the sense of art and spirit. Even if it is not the work the artist wants to do, drawing a cartoon bird on the shoulder of a wise girl with a group of foxes nearby helps pay off debts. But it should not be this way. Clients can do more to help keep the art of tattoo art alive by doing more than just inquiring about tattoo prices from the get go. This does not mean that the price you pay is insignificant; just that there are some very important questions that need to be answered that you need to ask.
For example:
Can you break down the cleaning process? Unless you have been living under a very large rock for the past eighteen months or so, the world is facing a health crisis from which you cannot be relieved. In spite of the amazing scientific work being done to help us cope with this crisis, one thing has been emphasized to keep things clean. This includes hand washing, and since tattoo studios are allowed to reopen, they double the amount needed to really clean every square inch of their space.
What are some of the unique features that certain artists have? While tattoo artists can do almost all kinds of designs well, there are some things they do better than others. It’s not a point of embarrassment or ridicule - it’s about knowing what you are really moving on. If you have a clear idea of what you want to paint, find an artist who is doing very well, not just someone who can do a good solid work. There is a difference between the two.
How do you work closely with clients with specific allergies? Believe it or not, some people have allergies to certain ingredients in the tattoo ink. Some are strong vegan and unsure of sticking to vegan products, which include vegan ink. Tattoo artists are like other people who are talented in that they can properly marry in their habits and practices. Developing artists, however, understand that they need to adapt to a changing world and the flexibility of their customer base in order to meet the larger needs AND to attract more customers.
What is the quoting process? Relying closely on the pricing concept of tattoo now, we help in the process of quoting. Finding a tattoo quote in the past has not been easy. It usually included an artist who tells you:
"Well, I can do this a lot or this a lot. If you want more, tell me 'cuz it might not happen.
Nowadays, modern tattoo studios take the time to interact with clients who may find what they are looking for which includes size, color, placement, and complexity of the design.
As a final point about the price of a tattoo, remember that if you only think about how much you do NOT want to spend or how much you hope to save, it may mean that you are not ready for the tattoo you want.
